He got dropped back to another platoon which graduates Jan 21. The reason was that he got a weird bug bite on his calf that made it swell all up. He had to go to the doctor so much that he missed too much of the M-16 rifle training. He is bummed about this since it takes him away from the platoon he knows and his buddies. He had the drill instructor figured out, and now he has a new one. He's feeling disconnected and lonesome there and he's trying to get his bearings. If anyone sent him anything to the old address lately, he'll get it eventually, but use the new address from now on.

Bummer: I know that a lot of recruits end up getting held back because of medical reasons. Lyndsey was in the medical platoon for eight weeks with a broken hand she got in the first day of Crucible.
Oh well, it will give him more time to get it right and to do the Marine training, more time to get in shape. But it means that you will have to change your plans to go to the graduation. I wish I could go.
