great pics!

Jennell, Gram L and I enjoyed your pictures on the link. It's a great way to share the old pictures without actually letting go of them. Great idea.

Odds n' Ends

Hola! I've been playing around with Grandma's pictures and our family tree for Dave Castle. I thought that Aunt Joanne and Uncle Bill might be interested in the info, so I sent both of you the same links I sent him. In case anyone else is interested, here they are... http://www.gencircles.com/users/pkypnts/1 and http://home.bellsouth.net/p/s/community.dll?ep=16&groupid=203890&ck At that site, click on the photo album link to see the pictures.

In other breaking news, my mom continues to feel better. She is down to only one drain and is hoping that she won't continue accumulating fluid in the places where the other drains were.

We are having a BBQ at Boynton Beach tomorrow evening at 5:00 pm to celebrate Father's Day. All are welcome to attend. Who knows what we will do if it rains...keep your cell phone handy!

Well, I guess that's all for now! Hope everyone else is well and enjoying summer...I know I am! :)

Boy am I glad to hear that

I am so glad to hear that you are feeling better, Mother. But more than that I am glad to see that you have posted to the Lambert/Polacek/Dwyer Family blog.

I got the notice as the blog administrator that you had posted it but did not see it on the blog. So I copied the message are reposted it. Maybe it is because I did not include you in the possible members, I did not think that you would be posting here. Anyway, it is out there and I am glad that you were able to let us all know.

Jean Report

I talked to Jean Lambert for a while last night. She had surgery on June 8th for six hours. She is doing real well so far, from her report. She got out of the hospital in four days and already has been up and around. Things look good for her future and she seems in good spirits. God does listen to our prayers, we should all thank him.

John is taking the time off for "family leave". He will be off till into July to take care of her. Joshua is not used to having both parents around full time during his summer vacation and this has made for some changes.

Jennell is working for the summer camp but in an administrative postition this year.

Jason & Megan are talking about marriage plans. This should be a big one.

Keep us informed of any Lambert / Polacek / Dwyer news you have.

Birthday Gifts

Yesterday was my birthday. I received several gifts & cards, for which I am very thankful. But the best one I got was a visit from my older son. Trace and Jennie came by for several hours in the late afternoon / early evening. We celebrated his birthday (June 9th), my birthday (June 13th) and Marlana'a birthday (June 14th). We had cake, gifts, cards, a walk on the beach, great conversation and hugs. What a great birthday.

Trace and Jennie gave me a Zuni kachina. I have always admired the Indians of the southwest and their culture, and have desired a kachina for a long time. This is quite an honor for me. It will receive a place for all to see (but not one kids can reach) in my house forever.

Valerie knows that I am proud of being born in Chicago and always consider myself a Chicagoan. The Chicago Cycling Club's official jersey sports a Chicago flag and I have always wanted one. So for my birthday, she joined me up and ordered one of the jerseys for me. Way Kewl!

I also got cards and gifts from my step daughters, Marlana and Amanda, as well as Amanda's husband, Jon. Thanks all.

Wedding Pictures

Once again I wish to point you all to my personal blog. You can click on the title of this post to get sent there. I have posted some pictures from the wedding. These are the digital ones that Kathy and Jerry Hazlet took. We have many more from them and are expecting the "official" ones from Wendy Heise soon. Anyone else who has some to send us would be appreciated as well.

I was awed by the response we had to our original plan of "an intimate affair on the beach". We calculated that there were sixty-one guests there. And the gifts, we did not expect gifts. Mom, yours was especially generous. Our thanks to all who attended and who sent their wishes.

Thanks, Carolyn, I enjoyed it too!

I am glod you came, brought Mom and enjoyed it. It meant a lot to me to have some family there as my own son who is local refused to attend.

The title of this post is a link to my personal blog also. Soon I will have some pictures from the wedding posted there. We have gotten some pictures from our friends Kathy & Jerry that they took at the wedding. I am currently posting them on the web and will link to them soon so you can view them. Steve and Wendy are also going to provide pictures that will be posted here when they come back from the developer. Maybe Carolyn can provide some of the ones she took as well.

Bill & Valerie are married

What a beautiful setting for a wedding! It was a lovely day, with beautiful words sung and spoken by the bride & groom, and a very nice encouragement from Chuck Anderson, their pastor. Mom Lambert and I (Carolyn) were able to attend. It was very nice, and we were glad we were there. Congrats! You should check out Bill's blog for his thoughts on it. There's a link on the sidebar for it.

Warning! Warning!

Be aware that there is a new comment (and a new commentor) on the post for the "OK, I've decided..." posting. I would not want anyone to miss it, get upset, rave out or blow a fuse. (kidding of course) ;->

Looks like it is going to happen

Well, yesterday we met with the pastor, got the marriage license, picked up the rings, cleaned up some of the yard, sowed part of the dress, stressed, ran around, realized that we have a lot to do, and started to panic.

It looks like it really is going to happen Sunday evening here at 6:00 PM. Please pray for nice weather, it looks iffy. And we have fifty or sixty people coming and a small house; so it has to be outside.

Y'all are welcome to attend or to send your wishes for a great life together.

OK, I've just decided - I don't like the comment thing. If everyone just comments on a new post, then you don't have to go finding it somewhere else. That's too much trouble for nothing. Listen, if you can't say it in front of everyone, maybe it's best left unsaid....! So there! BTW, Jay....I'm not computer-illiterate (I thought you were referring to Grandma!) I'm just unfamiliar with blogging. At least I'm here - There are some family members who have not visited the blog at all.

The Exchange of Information

Jennell, I am glad that you have found this an effective way to exchange information. I feel that my physical seperation from other members of the the family has been an impediment to keeping informed and I appreciate people posting here very much.

I hope things went well at the celebration of Grandma's birthday.

BTW, Jennell, what do you have planned for the summer? Is school over for the year yet?

Things are started to get interesting here what with a wedding coming up in only a few days. I am glad that we did it this way so I do not have time to get upset.
