The Blog is Clogged

We seem to have slowed down on family blogging. I guess that's because we all live such exciting lives. I don't have anything of note to report either, but I do enjoy reading the exploits of the family around the globe. So in the interest of keeping this thing going, I'll post some not-so-noteworthy bloggings.

The cookie exchange at Daniela's was fun. We ate and ate and then we took a bunch home. Next year, I'll be more prepared with some unusual recipes. And I'll carve out more time for baking. Like Auntie Jean says, "baking got crossed off the to-do list about five years ago..."

Jo & George are going to Alaska on Christmas Eve.
Bill & Valerie are on their way to South Florida, arriving on Friday 12/23.
Jennell and Josh have come home. Jennell is staying with Grandma.
Christmas Eve will be celebrated after church at the Dwyers, if anyone is interested... The guy in the red suit may make an appearance there late.
Christmas Day will be celebrated at the Lamberts' on Pine Drive. Dinner is at 5 pm.

There are 5 more shopping days till Christmas. Yikes. I gotta go.

Travel Plans

Valerie & I plan on leaving this afternoon (Saturday). We will be heading to our friend's house in Columbia, TN tonight. We will visit there on Sunday, watching the Bears beat the Falcons in the evening. Monday we plan on heading to visit Valerie's friends in Sarasota. We plan on visiting there Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Friday morning we will leave for South Florida, taking our time crossing the state and checking out the west coast till we get to Ft. Myers and coming across on 441. We should arrive late Friday afternoon.

We will be in South Florida until we begin our trek north to again be in Columbia for New Year's eve. Sunday we will head back home so we can rest up and relax before the work week begins in 2006.

The plan is to take our VoIP box with us so that we can be reached thru our home phone number. We can plug it in at places with internet access and act like we are at home. If we are not available then the voice mail will work.

Leader of the Cleanup People

Did you hear that Jay was promoted? Now he's Lance Corporal (LCp) or Leader of the Cleanup People, as he says it. Anyhow, I asked him to post that news, but he hasn't done it yet, so THE MOTHER will brag.

Merry Christmas

Here is a picture of Joanne & George. I think this is a Christmas picture. They look like they exchanging gifts. Help me out here, Joanne.

Christmas 1959

Here is a Christmas image from 1959. Carolyn and John are in the picture, but you have to look hard to find John (he is to the left of the doll). The old Argus 3C could be confusing to use.

New Car

I bought a new car over the Thanksgiving weekend. It is a 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix. I paid $400 for it from a nice Christian couple. She is starting a business and needs a van for delivery so she sold the car. The brakes were making so much noise that I called a tow truck to have it hauled to Jon's place. New brakes, two new tires, oil change, new air and gas filters and $580 later I have a great car. Then the snow covers it all up so I will have to drive it down there to show you how it looks. The damage on the Dodge is in the rear so you cannot see from this pic how bad it is.

December

View out my front window

View out my back window Dec 1 AM

so I woke up on Thursday and it is December 1. I have to take out the garbage can to the street and what do my wondering eyes see, but lots of white stuff. This is the view from the front window on the top and the back window on the bottom. Today (Friday) it is 17 degrees out and there is still lots of snow left. December brings lots of fun and it is starting out early this year.
